REVIEW Caribou's Gift by Eve Langlais

Title: Caribou's Gift
Author: Eve Langlais
Expected publication date: December 16th, 2014

Synopsis

Damn it, a man had his pride and a caribou a certain majestic presence, all of which could wind up ruined if he abased himself to play a simple-minded reindeer in the town’s Christmas parade.

No way was he wearing damned tinsel in his antlers.

Like hell was he sporting a red nose and pulling a sleigh.

But he changes his mind when he meets the woman in charge of the event.

Single mom, Crystal, is doing her best to offer her daughter the best Christmas ever. It’s their first in Kodiak Point, and she’s not about to let some vain jerk ruin it for her little girl.

If playing dirty is what it takes…then bring on the Christmas games. As Crystal and Kyle butt heads—and lips—they discover more than goodwill this holiday season. They’re gifted with a second chance at love.

Review

I'm really loving this new series by Eve Langlais. In Kodiak Point, Alaska, a clan of shifter lives together. All kinds of shifters. From bears to mooses (not meece!), walrus to foxes, there are all kinds living there.
Caribou's Gift is a novella in the series, coming after Polar Bared, and takes a more light-hearted look at life in the town.
It's Christmas time and Rudolph is needed for the town's Christmas parade because, sucks for the timing, the usually guy died. How rude and inconvenient! Crystal is new in town and running the parade, Kyle is one of the guys from the military unit we know of from previous books and he just happens to be a caribou shifter...perfect to play Rudolph. Except he says NO!

I love Eve's writing. I have done since the first book I ever read. There's not a book of hers I haven't enjoyed. I'm also blessed to copy edit for her too, which creates fangirl moments each time I get a new manuscript to play with. There's no bias in my reviews though due to that. I genuinely love all her work.
Kodiak Point is a brilliant new series of hers and I can't wait for more. The characters are strong, fiesty and interact really well. Even the 'bad guy' (Gene) has a place here.
Kyle is a computer wizz and wins the heart of Crystal's daughter, who has issues with strangers and men in particular. He wins her over and eventually her mum, too. A wonderful Christmassy novella for the silly season and a fab edition to the Kodiak Point family!
